Based just outside Greenville, South Carolina, Carolina Bearing & Belting is an independent fabricator of conveyor belting and distributor of electric motors, gearboxes, chain, bearings, pulleys, and various other power transmission and electrical components. We also design and service conveyors and material handling systems. Our highly responsive sales and field service teams provide on-site installation, analysis, and recommendations to find the best solutions for our customers.
History of Carolina Bearing & Belting
Established in 1936, Carolina Belting began as a textile and industrial belt shop. At the time of our founding, Greenville, SC, was the Textile Capital of the World, with Southern textile mills producing more than 70% of cotton and woolen textiles. With the shrinking of the textile industry, we found success working to provide solutions to the many industries that moved to the Southeast such as automotive, tires/ rubber, logistics, food, and construction.
After partnering with Weimer Bearing & Transmission in 2018, we committed to growing local inventory of power transmission components on top of our vast conveyor belt stock. This commitment to both power transmission and conveyor belting led us to changing our name in 2021 to “Carolina Bearing & Belting”.
Today, we service companies from coast-to-coast and are a member of Affiliated Distributors and supplyFORCE, which allows us to work efficiently with some of the largest companies in the United States while maintaining the responsiveness of a local partner.
